Today’s SOTD is a stunner, both ear-wise, and eye-wise. This is Zamilska, a Polish electronic artist/DJ and their song, Hollow.
Today’s Song of the Day is a trip back to 1980s basic cable with some early MTV special effects. It’s ‘80s B movie sci-fi meets ‘90s techno with some Diana Ross loops thrown in because why not? This is not so much a Song of the Day as it is a Video of the Day (and that day appears to have taken place in 1982, give or take).
Here’s Raar and their song, Sometimes I Hear Sirens. May it take your Saturday into a time machine hellbound for the ‘80s and early video technology at its finest.
Here’s some electronica so crunchy it won’t get soggy in milk.
This is Brazilian musician Amon Tobian as Two Fingers, with his earsome delight, a song called Smurf.
Today’s SOTD is one to float in hyperspace to.
Seriously. Lie down. Close your eyes. And float in outer space for a bit.
That’s all you have to do. Thanks, Trentemoller.
Today’s SOTD is a remix of a classic Röyksopp dance song by Trentemoller. This is What Else Is There.
Love and survival for this one, both.
Classic electronica with an 80s vibe from the UK is the theme of late. Here’s another solid contender.
Today’s Song of the Day is perfect for a Sunday (not really). This is Bent and their song, Waiting for You.
Maverick Sable was featured on an earlier SOTD but not front and centre. To learn more about him, click here.
This is his song, Glory. Filing this under survival – and sobriety.
Wonder if the sun will ever shine again and that thing called “summer” will come ‘round again?
There’s a song for that day.
This is Ayokay (an unfortunate choice of name) and their electro mellow number, Kings of Summer.
Today’s SOTD is brought to you by London based nu jazz/funk rock/electronic/space rock outfit, The Comet is Coming.
Ever heard or seen anything like this? Ya, no. Me neither. This is their song, Summon the Fire.
Consider it summoned!
